Fresh produce from Padstow Kitchen Garden

Fresh produce from Padstow Kitchen Garden

Fruit and vegetables straight from the field to plate. There’s something so appealing about that. Zero fly miles, self-sufficiency and food that’s really, truly fresh.

I found out about Padstow Kitchen Garden through Instagram, one of its images appeared when I was scrolling – what a great discovery that turned out to be! It supplies lots of great Cornish restaurants like Rick Stein’s, Jamie Oliver’s 15 and Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 restaurant.

On my latest trip to Cornwall I found it the best place to pick up some interesting veggies for dinner.

Headed to Padstow and are going to cook some of your own meals? Then you need to visit this place to pick up a few bits!

Enter the cabin and take a look at the incredible produce I bought (and scoffed) on my trip…

A spa day with a difference at the Lush Spa in Poole

AD* Do you like a day in the spa? I do, I don’t get enough down time and I’m forever jumping from one thing to another piling more and more on my work load.

When the opportunity came up to try the Lush Spa in Poole for a morning of pure relaxation, I was very excited to see how one of my favourite brands had approached spa treatments.

Of course, Lush never does things by halves or quite how you’d expect, and I’m thankful it didn’t go down the cookie cutter route that you’d expect from a hotel.

Take a look at how Lush has put its spin on a spa, the innovative treatments available and the fully immersive experiences.

Come on in…

Doughnuts and coffee at Hideout Coffee Company in Portsmouth

Doughnuts and coffee at Hideout Coffee Company in Portsmouth

THIS. This is how you do doughnuts and coffee. Unique sweet treats, super strength caffeine and a beautiful aesthetic. Hideout Coffee Company has it all.

The doughnuts are out of this world. Go now and go early, they sell out so quickly so, do not go unprepared!

I visited after it had been open for six days, and it’s been selling out every single day. For a very good reason too, those doughnuts are AMAZING.

And yes, they are ‘The Finest Coffee Perverts’ in Portsmouth!

The Fitness Diaries July 2019 – Trying and failing to get back on the exercise wagon

Brunch at Becketts in Southsea

Brunch at Becketts in Southsea

Becketts is the restaurant in Southsea that’s been recommended to me over and over again. It’s been a Portsmouth staple for the last 30 years but came under new management in 2016 and is thriving in the city’s vibrant food scene.

It has an excellent reputation and now I’ve finally managed to visit I totally understand the hype.

Banana Bread Breakfast at Finca, Yeovil

Banana Bread Breakfast at Finca, Yeovil

My aversion to early mornings is nothing new. For me, there is no catching of the worm, I like my bed, I love sleep and lazy mornings are the best!

Over time I’ve learnt that there things I can do to lessen the impact of the inevitable alarm clock’s call. For me, early morning starts are remedied by coffee, sunshine and hot toasted banana bread.

On a recent work trip, an early start lead to the discovery of an excellent coffee spot in the heart of South Somerset’s Yeovil called Finca.
