[AD] Well check me out living my best Carrie Bradshaw life with cute take out noodle boxes at the launch of Ned’s Noodle Bar!
Recently nominated for ‘best noodles in the UK’ at the UK’s Golden Chopsticks Awards Ned’s is bringing its twist on Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean, Malaysian and Vietnamese flavours to central Southampton.
While Londoners may be familiar with this brand, it’s a first for Hampshire, with it previously only ever venturing as far out of the capital as Oxford. Its new southern venture is in the Marlands Shopping Centre, conveniently located just off the main high street.
I’ve always wanted wanted the ‘proper’ Chinese take away boxes like you see on Sex and the City and other American series. Sitting with the Southampton Blogging gals at the recent press launch event at Ned’s Noodles made me feel like I was in a HBO all-American TV series – dreamy feels!
As a noodle addict I’m thrilled for fresh, healthier noodle and rice dishes with no MSG or GM! I love a take away as much as the next person but, I just can’t handle the MSG and GM heavy offerings my local restaurants serve.
My favourites from the selection at the launch were the sizzling calamari strips, gyoza, spring rolls and green curry coconut thin noodles. Top that off with an Asahi beer and I was one very happy bunny!
There is still a lot on the menu that I’d like to go back to try including the noodle soups, steamed buns and the Japanese doughnuts filled with apple and cinnamon!
Vegan and vegetarian noodle fans will also be excited to know there’s lots on the menu to accommodate all foodie diet choices. There’s a real mix and match feel to the box meals and you can choose your base, sauce and filling. Perfect for customising the food so you can have exactly what you want!
Quick service noodles are becoming more and more popular and it’s one of my favourite meals so Ned’s is a welcome addition to Southampton’s foodie scene. Having a healthier, speedy food option is always good and I can’t wait to go back to try the bits I missed out on!
